Jody Ray is a writer and multimedia journalist based in New Orleans, LA. His work has appeared in the BBC, The Daily Beast, Jacobin, New Lines Magazine, and others. 
His interests include Geopolitics & International Relations, Critical Security and Conflict, Underreported Travel, and their intersections with multimedia journalism.
He holds degrees in Political Science from the University of Louisiana and International Relations & Political Economy from the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He has reported from Togo, Benin, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Kenya, The Netherlands, among others.
Aside from travel writing and journalism, he is the creator of EXIT STRATEGY, a vlog-style video project and associated podcast that seeks to explore the world through brief encounters and coverage of its local culture, conflict, and cuisine.
